In traditional Usui Reiki, there are four levels, each one of them reached through an attunement.

Reiki I

Reiki I is a one day course. The student is introduced to this powerful healing technique. The first attunement (Reiki I) connects the student to the energy and causes it to flow. He can then channel the energy for himself or others by the laying on of hands, i.e. by direct touch. The course outline is as follows:

• An introduction to Reiki, its origin, benefits and how it works.

• Reiki History & Lineage.

• The 5 Reiki principles

• Reiki I attunement - powerful initiation that gives you Reiki for the rest of your life.

• Learning to channel Reiki energy.

• Self-healing and healing others: Hand Positions.

• An overview of Chakras and Auras.

• Hands-on practice.

• Reiki for family, friends, plants, animals, food and water.

• Meditation

• A Manual with illustrations and guidelines.

Reiki II

Reiki II is a one day course. In this course, you are empowered with the Reiki symbols, which help in sending the divine Reiki energy across space & time. Past traumas can be healed and protection and help provided for future events The course outline is as follows:

• The 3 Reiki Symbols: Their meanings, usages and how to draw the symbols.

• Different ways to send distant healing.

• Using Reiki to achieve goals and to protect yourself & others.

• Reiki II attunement.

• Beaming

• Hands-on practise

• How to use the Reiki symbols: using Reiki for specific conditions.

• Using reiki to heal unwanted habits.

• Healing relationships with Reiki.

• Meditation.

• Forgiveness.

• A Manual with illustrations and guidelines.

Level IIIA

After practicing for a while, the student qualifies for the third level, ReiKi III (usually called IlIA). This is a one-day course.

This represents a quantum leap in the power that can be channeled. This and the next final level are for those who wish to evolve to a higher plane and perhaps dedicate themselves to helping humanity. This level is for personal mastery, personal growth, transformation and increased enlightenment. It is available to those students who have been continuously working with Second Degree Reiki and feel ready for the next level. An introduction to crystals and the making of crystal grids is taught at this stage to enable the learner to remove energy blocks. 

Master Level

The final level ReiKi IV (usually called IIIB) is the Master/Teacher level. This is a 2-day course.

It empowers the practitioner to initiate others into Reiki and to teach it. It is necessary that a continuous use of Reiki and a prerequisite of Third Degree for Personal Mastery be completed before applying for the Master/Teacher level. In this level, one is taught how to do attunements, which open the recipient to receive greater amounts of Reiki energy. These attunements are not initiatory, but are designed to help you access more energy when giving hands-on or absentee treatments.
